Luella was born in Warroad, MN on July 11, 1922 to Katie and Henry Marshall. She was the last survivor of her nine siblings. Growing up in Warroad, she worked various jobs while attending high school. She graduated from Warroad High School in 1942. She was married to Charlie Brandli from 1942 to 1996 when Charlie passed away.
The family moved from the farm south of Warroad in 1952 because Luella would have asthma attacks during the winters. They stayed in Turlock, CA for 9 months before moving to Mesa AZ. They lived in Mesa and Tempe before Charlie's retirement. Luella worked at various jobs in Mesa and in Tempe. They lived in Payson AZ for 17 years before moving back to Tempe. Then Luella lived at Sunland Village East before residing at Sunland Springs Village in Mesa.
Luella loved making cookies for the grandchildren. She loved to make quilts and afghans. She made over 100 afghans for the Navy Auxiliary of San Diego. She enjoyed watching the Suns play basketball.
She is survived by her children, Roy (Clara Ann) Brandli of Mesa AZ, Leon (Marcia) Brandli of Morrison CO, Ila Brandli of Mesa AZ, Marie (Mike) Burns of Gilbert AZ and Donna Enge of Mesa AZ; 8 grandchildren, Heather, Nathan, Cori, Marcus, Holley, Michelle, Mark, Dale; 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Service: 1 pm Friday March 30th at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale AZ with visitation an hour before the service. The family also wishes you can attend a gathering at her home (2326 S Oliverwood, Mesa) that evening at 4pm.
