

Margaret M. Kent of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away peacefully at Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center on August 26, 2014 at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl Howard Kent, Jr. Born on December 4, 1917 in Akron, Ohio, Margaret is survived by her two children:Jaqueline Clark of Phoenix, Arizona and Carl Howard Kent, III and his wife Donnette of San Jon, New Mexico. She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Well educated, she graduated from North High School in Akron, Ohio with the class of 1936. She attended the University of Akron then transferred to Kent State University studying business and secretarial skills. She married Carl, her high school sweetheart on December 25, 1939.
Working with her husband as a girl friday at his advertising agency, Kent and Hollaender, Margaret fostered her career in bookkeeping. When Kent & Hollaender was purchased by Bozell & Jacobs, she continued in the accounting department for 15 years until her retirement. Nurturing her interest in community and society, she spent her time volunteering at Phoenix’s Herd Museum and the St. Luke's Hospital gift shop.
Margaret was devoted to her family and an inspirational role model for each generation through proper etiquette and perfect manners combined with unconditional love. She was a world traveler, a bridge player, a volunteer and a bookkeeper, but most importantly, a grand lady who never missed a birthday and celebrated every special occasion. She enjoyed riding horses when visiting the ranch and having a dog around for company.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 9:00AM at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
