She was born June 28, 1928 in the Bronx, New York. Maria graduated from Periwinkle Walton High School in the Bronx in 1947. She married Adolph Micera on May 4, 1952. Prior to moving to Scottsdale, AZ in 2019, Maria was a resident of Bergen County, NJ for over 65 years.
Maria worked as a secretary and office manager for Hotel Picadilly in NYC as a young woman and later for her daughter’s practice, Northern Valley Chiropractic Center in New Jersey. She was a parishioner, volunteer and eucharistic minister at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hillsdale, New Jersey. Maria was devoted to her family and enjoyed travel, her bible study and book clubs, movies, cooking, and dancing.
Maria made a lasting impression with those whom she knew and met with her wonderful smile and laughter, her spunky personality, her generous heart, her willingness to always help and her devotion to the Lord. She had a taste for adventure traveling the world especially in her later years.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Dr. June Micera Wlosek D.C., who passed away in 2001; and her brother, Angelo (Imar) Festa in 2020. Maria is survived by her sons, John (Monica) and Robert (Jacqueline) Micera; and grandchildren, Mack, Kyle, Brianna, and Lily Micera.
