Marianne was born in Los Angeles, CA but was raised in New York and was very proud of it. She was born on April 22, 1955 to Dorothy and Francis Ryan. Marianne learned to be a chef the old school way, by learning from the chef’s above her and working her way through the ranks in the kitchen. In a local NY restaurant was where she met her future husband, Robert Mingua. The pair moved to Arizona and were married on September 7, 1983. They successfully raised 3 daughters Kim, Kerianne and Ryan.
Marianne always had an open door and a hot meal for anyone who needed it as well as an ear and a shoulder. She truly loved taking care of people and it showed in her home, her family, and her food. Marianne loved to have fun, which usually included music and dancing around the house, whether it be with her husband and girls or alone. Marianne also had a passion for gardening and often had multiple gardens and plants growing. None of this ever took away from her 2nd love, cooking. Her first being spending time with her husband and dogs.
Marianne had recently retired from her executive chef position at AJ’s Fine Foods, where she had been for 30 years. While with AJ’s she had helped open several of the stores and write menus that are still in place today. Every store she was at she quickly became a favorite of the customers, who would frequent her location and even follow her to new ones.
Marianne was an amazing, loving and strong woman, and an inspiration to many.
Marianne is preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy and father Francis Ryan. She is survived by her husband Robert Mingua, her three daughters Kim, Kerianne and Ryan, her sister Virginia and brothers Frank and James as well as several grandkids and members of her extended family.
