Marjorie Moss Mead

Born September 24, 1941 in Roanoke, Virginia to Bernard and Dorothy "DeDe" Moss. Marjorie was educated at the University of Indiana, hit the transfer portal and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami, "THE U".

After earning her degree she was employed by Douglas Aircraft in Los Angeles, California working on the C5 Galaxy project. In the early 70's she moved to Washington D.C. where she was employed as a computer programmer by the National Institutes of Health before being hired by EG&G (Edgerton, Germeshausen and Grier) a national defense contractor. Marjorie finished her long and distinguished career with the United States State Department, completing a lifetime of faithful service to her country.

Marjorie married James Curtis Mead in 1975. They lived in Rockville, Maryland where they raised their son, Steven. In 2004, she and her husband relocated to Phoenix, Arizona to be with their four grandchildren. She was a fierce advocate for women and women's rights. Marjorie was a member of the Ahwatukee women's group, quilting group, and home arts group. She loved to craft with friends, watch college football and hosting family gatherings, especially around the holidays.

Marjorie is survived by her husband James, son Steven, daughter-in-law Julie. Her sister Nancy Silverboard, brother-in-law Dr. Gerry Silverboard M.D. Her brother Ric Moss and sister-in-law Nancy Moss. Nephews Dr. Howard Silverboard M.D. and Dan Silverboard, Esq. Her four grandchildren, Alexandra, Caleb, Caden and Brendan.

A small family service is being held on September 17th at Green Acres Cemetery. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a favorite charity in memory of their loved one.
