Mary Ellen Shock

Mary was born in Wabash County Indiana, 1928 to Albert and Hazel Schipper. Mary moved to Arizona in 1951 with her husband Richard and two children. After her third child was born in Phoenix the family moved to Tempe where Mary lived for over 51 years. She was a member of Lions International for 25 years and President of the Tempe Lions Club for 14 yrs. She was the proud recipient of the Lions International Melvin Jones Service Award and with her leadership hundreds of Tempe School students received new eye glasses each year.

Mary was employed at Allied Printing in Phoenix for 14yrs and then Gila River Products in Chandler for 13yrs. She was a member of the American Baptist Church of Tempe for 45 years and a member of the Salvation Army Women’s Ministries.

Mary is survived by her brother Leon Schipper (Betty) Akron IN, son Steven Shock (Lenna) Pittsburg, PA and daughter JoEllen Brock (Keith) Sherman, TX. Her grandchildren include Michelle Sabo (Chris) Mesa, AZ, Nicole Phiri (John), Brentwood, PA, Amy Moser (Chris), Coraopolis PA, Joe Cascante, Mesa, AZ, Nathan Shock, Thornton, CO and 11 great grandchildren.

Mary was proceeded in death by her husband Richard in 1983, son Michael in 2001 (Vickie), two sisters and four brothers.
