Melinda Louise DuPree, affectionately known as “Lindy,” passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of grace, professionalism, and a spirited spark that brought color and vibrancy to her life. She deeply cherished her family and her beloved fur babies. Born on October 20, 1948, in Miami, Florida, Lindy lived a meaningful life marked by devotion, love, and joy.
Lindy attended Central High School, Arcadia High School, and Mesa Community College, where she laid the foundation for an accomplished and respected career. As an enthusiastic and experienced executive assistant, she brought forth an impressive background serving as a trusted and critical source of support to Executive Management Leaders. Known for her professionalism, keen attention to detail, and unwavering loyalty, Lindy was often the steady presence behind the scenes, ensuring excellence in every endeavor.
While dedicated to her profession, Lindy was also beautifully free-spirited. She split her adult life between California and Arizona, embracing the sunshine, friendships, and experiences each place offered. Her adventurous heart and independent nature shaped a life rich with stories and cherished memories.
Lindy loved music and dancing, whether enjoying her favorite songs at home or dancing with friends, music brought her joy and expressed the vibrant energy she carried within. She also adored her fur babies, especially her precious Murphy, who held a very special place in her heart. Her compassion and nurturing spirit extended to all who knew her.
Melinda resided in Scottsdale, Arizona where she created a home filled with warmth and love. She was preceded in death by her father, W. Morton DuPree, her mother Lois T. DuPree. She is lovingly survived by her brother, David DuPree (Nancy); her sister Millie Oakeson (Robert); and her nieces, Amy Hughes (Josh); Jennifer McCabe (Matt); and Emily Otto. She also leaves behind extended family members and dear friends who will forever remember her kindness, laughter and spirited soul.
Lindy’s life was one of dedication, independence, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
