Michael Foster Heller was born screaming into this world July 6th, 1972 complaining about the service and asking for a cigarette. Kansas City was forever changed by his presence and will never be the same. He made his presence known at Martin City Elementary, Grandview Middle School, and Blue Valley High. He knew how to fix anything. If it had a motor, he could figure it out. Grown men would seek his advice on whatever wasn't working in their garage. He did wheelies on a John Deere tractor. Rode skateboards into traffic. Challenged death at all turns even at a young age. Told the establishment to kiss his ass. He would forever be a rebel while also a sweet human being.
Mike Heller, 51, was a resident of Gilbert, AZ.
He moved to Arizona in 1992 for tech school and worked in the automotive industry which in later years, would lead him to become a large part of the racing community. In 2003, Mike met the love of his life, Heather Neyenhuis. They wed in the fall of 2015. September of 2016, he began working with Lonestar Racing. Where he found his larger than life personality fit right in with the people that would later become family. A man of many talents, he was highly regarded as a desert off road mechanic and race car builder and racer. In pursuit of this passion, Mike started his own business in 2021.
Our beloved Mike passed away suddenly, December 7, 2023.
Mike and his wife were best known for the love of each other. Their love of going to the dunes, off-roading, camping and spending time with loved ones is where they shared life together. Their home was always open to friends and family, with the barbecue always going. While known for his flip flops and sarcastic humor, many knew him to be a gentle giant. Mike was a big part of his community and loved bringing people together. He was always willing to lend a helping hand or knew a guy that could. His loss will be felt through his community, and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends and large number of adopted family and children.
Mike is survived by his mother Linda Heller, wife Heather; sister, Wende Hinrichs (Brad), brother, Chris; nieces Abigail, Saige, Kyla & Cassidy; and nephews, Stewart, Ryan & Brandon; dogs, Mya and Nemesis; goddaughter, Ellison and numerous other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Stewart Heller.
