I miss you terribly Grandpa Norm!!! You were such a loving, dear Grandfather. Every minute spent with you was spent in love and happiness. I will never forget the tips you passed onto me about golf, or life. You will always be with me and I am grateful to have had you in my life. I miss you calling me sweetie and sunshine, your cute hats, your strong hands, and your speedy walking! I love you forever and wish I could see you again!!! Hopefully we will meet again. ^_^

Uncle Norman was such a lively person Iadmired him for all his spunk. I remember going golfing with him, Dan,Mike Sheetz and i'm not sure who i'm forgetting in michigan. He just totally blew me away. I'm going to miss him alot but now he's at peace and back with all his brothers. I loved you Uncle Norman.

My husband, Tad and I visited with Uncle Norman and his wife, Phyllis in the mid nineties when we flew into Phoenix.  We enjoyed their company and are glad we made the trip to their home in Scottsdale.

I enjoyed seeing Uncle Norm at the reunions every year. My dad really enjoyed the time he spent in Scottsdale visiting with Norm and his wife. Norm is finally at home with his brothers and sister and step sister. He always had the time to talk with you. Always was smiling and you knew that was because of his wife Phyllis.  Uncle Norm have a safe trip home. You are going to be missed by many.

Uncle Norman was a very caring and kind person. He came home every year until his health got bad.. And his love of golf  was something my dad and him always talked about.. And that is  probably what he is doing up with his brothers. He will be missed.

I always enjoyed seeing Uncle Norman when he faithfully returned to his home roots during the time of the Baker reunion.  He was the "go to guy" for heading up many of the sporting activities the guys looked forward to.

How wonderful to open the webpage and see my uncle doing one of his favorite things--swinging a golf club!  While it's been a very long time since we lived in the same town I always enjoyed the telephone visits that I had with him and we were always happy when we could visit face-to-face each year at the Baker Reunion. He was the last of my dad's siblings to pass so I can imagine what a jubilee Harrison, Lyle, Katherine, Richard, Charles, Eugene, and Russell have been having.

My Grampy is gone from this life and he's left us, not a little, heart broken. I keep remembering him "just as mean and ornery as ever", eating muffins and drinking coffee in the early morning, and sharing his stories and his golfing expertise at other times.

This Christmas we're going to have to put up the decorations without his help and muddle through our golf without his wonderful presence.

I don't know why he thought it was funny and strange that we love him, and think of him, entirely as our Grandfather.  He may not have been related by blood, but he was always there for his grandkids from the beginning of our lives.
I feel really blessed to have been able to share as much of my journey with him as I was.
  
Lucky fellow that he was, as he used to remind us, "I've never been sick a day in my life!" I'm so grateful he is comfortable now.

There was a moment on October 17, just after my mom texted me and my siblings to let us know he was taken off life support and they were waiting for nature to take it's course, and my sister and I both left the room to grieve;I was intensely praying for him when suddenly, through my heavy sorrow, it felt like I had connected with him.  He was SO happy about the prospect of getting out of the hospital and the pain, and PROFOUNDLY excited about his awaiting adventure. When my sister and I reconvened, I told her what I experienced.  She said that she had felt the same thing: his deep joy and excitement about a new adventure. A week later, I'm still holding onto his joy, and I'm grateful for the fullness of his life.  I know, with certainty, that he is well on his way.

I love you SO much Gramp, I don't know if I'll ever stop missing you, but I do know I'll *always* be your gal. And don't worry, of course we'll take excellent care of Grammy.

I am grateful for the opportunity to have met Norm.  He always extended the warmest hospitality  towards me, and had some of the greatest stories.  I'll miss you Norm, much love.

Grandpa Norm was the BEST Grandfather a girl could ever ask for! He was always there for me, offering love, advice and support. He always called me cutie, sunshine or beautiful, three of the most loving monicars I have ever been given. Patient, funny, stubborn, incredibly sweet and faithful are some of my favorite words to use when describing Grandpa Norm. And, did you know he loved golf? Yeah, he really, really loved it! We got to share that with him. He passed on his knowledge and skill to a group of extreme beginners, and I am so grateful for all of my lessons! I will do my best to keep my head down Grandpa, and relax and follow through. Thanks for being such a great Grandparent Norm. I am going to miss you so much! I love you and hope you have found peace.

We will all miss Norm. He lived his life as he wanted, from his commitment to completing every task undertaken completely and promptly, to an unswerving generosity that we knew personally and the world saw through his extensive lifelong participation in public service organizations, coaching, and in his role sponsoring and coaching youth sports. His golfing-- a legend throughout his adult life even to the end-- is an example to us all of what can be accomplished. As much as he was respected and trusted in his business life, he was an even more important and devoted member of the family he loved. I am so grateful to have known Norm and to have had him as a part of my life.
