

He lived a long, fulfilling life surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on July 30, 1929, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and raised in Boise, Idaho, Norman moved to Phoenix in 1954 and eventually to Tucson.
While in Boise, he served in the U.S. Air Force and then began working in construction and a bartender in the Phoenix area. This start sparked his lifelong career in the restaurant industry. In the 1970’s he became the successful owner of the Barons, a Tucson landmark for over 30 plus years, alongside his business partner Chuck Schaib.
Norman is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol Sarlat; daughters, Jann Taylor, Lynn Felix (Thom), Debby Bernier (Stephen), and Diane Yearin (Donnie); and grandchildren, Nicki, Cory, McKenna, Jody, Brook, Meghan, Kate, and Nora. He was preceded in death by his son Max Sarlat and his siblings, Irwin, Rita, Gladys and, Kal.
We will never forget our beloved Stormy who gave us so much to remember, His memory will continue to live through us all with the many stories he shared.
A private memorial service will be held with the immediate family. Norman will be interred at Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Arizona.
