Richard Carter Reed

Mr. Reed was born on August 8, 1941 in Wilmington, DE to his parents, Carolease Carter and Archibald Steele Reed III. He is survived by his daughter, grandson and great grandson, Stephanie Reed, Christopher Cody Goodyear, and Carter James Goodyear of Newark, DE, as well as his niece and nephew, Carolease Jones and William Jones of Scottsdale, AZ. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his only sibling, Kathleen Reed Jones.

At the age of 24 Mr. Reed enlisted with the National Guard December 21, 1965 and served until 1971. Later in life, as a professional mechanic and self-taught handyman, Mr. Reed always displayed remarkable adaptability. He not only took pride in all of his business endeavors, but also truly relished the friends he made during his time. Gaining knowledge in a wide variety of fields, he was always eager to take on anything life threw at him. He also had the pleasure of traveling both in- and out-of-country throughout his lifetime.

A private viewing was held at Green Acres Cemetery, Scottsdale, AZ on February 25 at 10:00 a.m. The cremation took place on March 3. The scattering of the ashes will be a private event held shortly thereafter. The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations.
