Bob was born in Marion, Indiana on November 18, 1930.
He graduated from Denby High School and served in the 3rd Army during the Korean War.
He then worked full-time while pursuing and achieving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
Bob was married to his loving wife, Esther Grassan, on March 19, 1955 at Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit. They shared 68 wonderful years together.
Bob had a successful career in Labor Relations and Compensation for Chrysler, UHaul, and Arizona State University.
He enjoyed just being at home and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition, Bob was an avid reader, with 1,110 books checked off his list during his retirement.
Bob is survived by his wife, Esther Ackerman, and his son, Craig Ackerman.
