He later graduated from Central High School in Flint, Michigan before having a long career as a pilot and commander in the US Navy and Coast Guard. Robert married Marian H. Cordell in Flint on March 30, 1946. Marian preceded him in death. Bob was a Mason and enjoyed golf, tennis, bowling and fishing throughout his life.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Betty Carol Kostan; his grandchildren, Tyson Kara and Tracey Price; great grandchildren, Tara, Trevor, Seth, Ashley, Ryan, and Lauren. He is also survived by notable family members, Ron Vincent and Linda Donaldson.
