Robert "Bob" Phillips, age 92, passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 in Mesa, Arizona at his home peacefully with his family. He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on April 30, 1927 to Carl and Catherine Phillips. He moved to Arizona in 1953 to join the Air Force Thunderbirds at Luke Air Force base, where he served as a mechanic with the first team. After his time in the service, he and his late wife, Dolores, made Arizona their home. He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Phillips, and three sisters, MaryAnn Smith, Rosemary Wolf and Patricia Brown, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Over the years he had a love of golf, water skiing, bowling, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Diamondbacks. But volunteering was a great part of his life that he enjoyed. Some of the many volunteer organizations he was involved with were: Scottsdale Jaycees, Arizona Cactus-Pine Girl Scout Council, St. Vincent de Paul and the East Valley Senior Center.
Funeral Services and interment will be at Green Acres Mortuary & Cemetery in Scottsdale, Arizona on Saturday, January 25 with the funeral held in the Chapel of Light at 2:00 PM and graveside service afterwards in the cemetery. There will be no reception after the service, please just keep Bob in your memory as you knew him.

Bob kept this saying on his desk and looked at it each day. The saying is: "Dear Lord, thank you for this day. Hold my hand and give me courage to carry the cross You have chosen for me. Let me never complain. Let me smile and give strength to my family and friends and to all I come in contact with."
