Rod, 73, of Scottsdale went to be with our Heavenly Father on November 1, 2016. He was at home surrounded by family. A lifelong nonsmoker, Rod had a one-month long battle with lung cancer. Born in Cambridge, MA, Rod maintained his adult residency in AZ. He earned two master's degrees: one at Northeastern University and another at ASU. He was a successful CPA in the Valley for more than 30 years. Rod was a wonderful, selfless, and loving man who helped others and never knew a stranger. He enjoyed watching college football and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his four children - Samantha, Vanessa, Rick, and Jillian; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother Tom, sister Linda, and 2 cousins John. Rod lived a good and meaningful life and will be greatly missed. A memorial will be held at 11am, Monday, Nov. 7 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2202 N 74th St, Scottsdale. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made to Hospice of the Valley .
