Roger Lee Adams

Roger was raised in Macon, Illinois. A dedicated public servant, he began his career with the United States Postal Service in 1966, serving for over 35 years. Beginning in 1975, he also worked concurrently as a Deputy with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.

After living in Illinois, Arizona, and Colorado, Roger ultimately settled in Mesa. In retirement, he remained active in the community through volunteer work with the American Red Cross Disaster Relief team, Scottsdale Memorial Hospital, and his local church choir. He was also a proud member of the Rio Salado Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), where he forged lifelong friendships and celebrated his love of classic Western heritage.

Roger is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Adams , lovingly known as “Granny.” The two shared a deep and enduring love—one marked by laughter, partnership, and quiet devotion—that remained ever-present in Roger’s heart after her passing.

He is survived by his daughter, Angie Burley-Huckaby ; son, Mike Adams (Holly Warwick Adams); step-daughters Cindy Prince and Tamey Burley Zollner. Grandchildren; Brandon Burley (Heather Burley), Cameron Lipetz (Mallory Lipetz), Elyssa Allen (Joshua Allen), Ethan Adams, London, and Archer Adams; and great-grandchildren, Austin Burley, Maya Burley, Jatias Adams, Eli Lipetz, and expected Lipetz twins.

He will be remembered for his quiet wisdom, steady strength, and unwavering love for his family.

A celebration of life for Roger will be held at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery in Scottsdale, AZ, on May 12, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., with interment to follow in the Serenity Mausoleum.

A graveside service will occur Monday, May 12, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 401 Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85257. A catered reception will occur Monday, May 12, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
