Ronald James Rostas, 66, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on May 25, 2019. He was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on December 12, 1952. He is survived by his loving family- wife Kathy, sons Ronald and Ryan, daughter Sara, grandchildren Jack and Emily, and twin brother Bob (Irene). Ron was preceded in death by his parents Dolores and Richard.
Ron was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University. He received a degree in accounting and an MBA in finance, and in his professional career he held a number of corporate positions in the area of business finance.
Ron and Kathy met in 1969, married in 1980, and moved to Scottsdale in 1984, where they continued their careers and raised their family. While Ron loved living in Arizona, he always remained a diehard Buckeye. He was a passionate Ohio State football fan, with scarlet and gray being prominant colors throughout his home and daily life.
Ron was a loving husband and father who would do anything for his family. He was a kind and gentle soul who loved animals and shared his home with a number of cats and dogs throughout his life. Ron never met a stranger, and his casual and relaxed ways made him easy to befriend. He was accepting of everyone, and was never critical or judgemental. Ron acted as the Neighborhood Dad, loving and supporting his children's friends as if they were his own.
Ron was an avid sportsman, making The Ohio State University varsity tennis team, and enjoyed golf, basketball, bowling, and fishing throughout his life. He loved playing chess with grandson Jack and watching reality TV and cooking programs with granddaughter Emily. His success at Keno was impressive, no doubt due to his accounting background. Ron always enjoyed a party, where family and friends could be together. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ on Saturday June 8, 2019 from 3pm to 5pm. A gathering will be held at the family home from 6pm to 9pm to celebrate Ron's life.
