In the early morning of Tuesday August 19th Rosemarie peacefully passed away at home in her own bed. Rosemarie was born on July 4th, 1937. She is a true firecracker and a native of Phoenix AZ. Rosemarie graduated from West High in 1955 and continued her education at Arizona State College, now known as Arizona State University. Throughout her journey of life, she continued to take flight, working for 5 years with Continental Airlines as a flight attendant taking servicemen overseas, to protect our great country in the Vietnam War. Rosemarie then went on to San Diego CA to work for the San Diego Union Tribune newspaper. Soon after she met and married Robert Edward McGowan and had her son Brian. After a couple of years Rosemarie returned to the valley and became a single mother. She became a real estate agent and was an exceptional saleswoman winning many awards for the ‘million dollar in sales’ club, until finally posting up with her own real estate company – Rosemarie McGowan Realty Inc - in 1979 which was the mark of her career and is still in business to this day. She was determined to make an impact on this world.
Rosemarie is the youngest of four sisters Eva Pearson, Joanne Dye, and Pauline Murphy. She loved to play kick the can as a little girl and later on enjoyed many sports like football, basketball, tennis, and especially golf. She was very active in her activities ranging from volunteering with continental airlines for 10 years with the sky harbor airport auxiliary aviation department or volunteering and working on many republican campaigns in Arizona. She also enjoyed playing in many tennis and golf leagues, as well as playing a little Texas hold’em, Gin Rummy, as well as Bridge for her card games.
She was always impressed with success, which became a vital part of her life. Rosemarie was successful. She was a winner! Her dedication and effort that she would put into something was always noticeable by the results.
Loving the valley and being a native she was always supportive of the sports team, honoring the Phoenix Suns for 20 years with 9th row season tickets behind the visitor bench to supporting her favorite team the Arizona Cardinals with 50-yard line season tickets 21 rows up since existing in the valley in 1988.
This is who she was. She took pride in the competitive spirit and the victories she accomplished throughout her life. Rosemarie is survived by her son Brian Edward McGowan and grandson Tyler Edward McGowan.
Rosemarie is a true patriot and an amazing woman who lived a full life.
