Ruby Louise Orr, 94, was born in Berwyn, Illinois on Christmas day, 1921, the youngest of three blond, blue-eyed girls. Her family survived the Great Depression and during elementary school, Ruby was promoted from third grade to fifth because of excellent grades. After graduating from high school and working for several years, she married Paul Orr, an officer in the US Air Force, and followed him around the globe while raising four children. They retired to Mesa, Arizona in 1967. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years and survived by her children Douglas Orr (Lori), Pamela Oxendale (Tom), Joan Spencer (Ron), Richard Orr; grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Oxendale, Brenna and Mitchell Orr, Paul Taylor, Andrea Orr, and six great-grandsons. She taught her daughters how to sew and all her children how to cook, and her greatest achievement was passing on a desire to know Jesus Christ. A memorial service will be held at Green Acres Mortuary in Scottsdale, Arizona on Thursday July 21, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
