Ruth A. Rider

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beautiful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Ruth A. Rider "Nana". She passed with grace and dignity on September 2, 2014 at the young age of 94.

Born in the small mining town of Superior, AZ on October 18th, 1919, she grew up and met the love of her life Clarence "Papa" while hitchhiking across town. A military wife and proud mother of two, she is survived by her eldest daughter, Karen A. Moore; son-in-law, Olan Moore, and youngest daughter, Tina A. Love; granddaughters, Wendy, Cindy, Laurie, Christy and all of her beautiful great grandchildren.

Nana is known for her loving heart, spunk, creativity and affinity for Champagne. She loved to dance and was the life of the party. She was an avid home gardner, volunteer, reader and cruciverbalist and played a mean game of Bridge. While her passing leaves us with heavy hearts, we are lucky to have even fonder memories. She now is rejoycing with all whom have gone before her.

Services will be held at Green Acres Mortuary on Friday, September 5, 2014 at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Hospice of the Valley or www.coloncancerfoundation.org or American Cancer Society.
