Still hard to believe you left us so soon Scot. I miss your infectious smile and your great sense of humor, and I feel  fortunate to have been your coach and friend for a short while.

Me and my husband met Scot in 2014 I was pregnant with Landon Scot was so nice to me and my husband he was always so sweet every visit we did  even at the hospital when Landon was born he told us his stories and even told us about the hidden menu at in n out. Lol he made us laugh god bless you Scot jj and I will miss you 

I only knew Scot for a short time, but he forever left an imprint in my heart. He made me feel safe at a time in my life when I needed it... He had a generous heart and the kindest smile. The world will not be the same with out him. Rest Easy Scot. 

I was fortunate to have known Scot as a coach and teacher at Horizon High  School as well as Justin, Pat and Chris. He was special to me not only as an excellent teammate, but a respectable young man on and off the court. His contagious smile will be forever etched in my memory along with his pleasant demeanor and willingness to do the “little things” needed to make the team successful.
My favorite story about Scot is after hearing him singing at practice and players telling me he was in choir, I asked him to so sing the National Anthem at the next game. He told me he could not because of his religious affiliation which showed me how devout he was in his faith. A quality not seen by many young and old alike.
Scot, you will be truly missed and I am thankful I was able to share a short amount of time with you. I will envision two  thoughts about you. One, you are up there playing hoops, and second you are singing in God’s choir. RIP my friend.

Scot Zee is a great friend, he was one of the first people I met when I moved to Az in 1991.  We became fast friends.  I will never forget our many basketball battles together, weekends at each others houses, and philosophical chats about girls ;).  But it was his kind heart and nonjudgmental attitude that made him stand out.  He was one of few that really encouraged my true passion and participated in it.  You were so competitive about everything and as stubborn as a bull at times.  I'll never forget your compassion for people and ability to make us feel at ease.  I can hear you saying "I feel bad" because you always wanted to do more.    I'll never forget you Scot......  

When I heard Scot passed I just couldn’t believe it. My first memory of Scot was when we played Basketball together at Horizon High School. I was never very good - and I was always frustrated with my inability to shoot, run, or jump as well as the others on the team. Scot however, took me under his wing and always encouraged me, lifted me up and pushed me to improve. I remember the countless hours of pick up games and gym time at Cactus park. I remember playing BBall and Volleyball at the police park. I remember our deep conversations in the drive way talking about girls, basketball, religion and ...girls. He was always so smart, yet so humble. We also shared a joy for singing and sang in the Horizon HS choirs. I believe we shared a sense of identity as singing basketball players.... (this was not meant to be a reference to High School Musical...)  
I remember Scot and I battling for the lowest notes in the bass section - always being #1 & #2 (who was #1 was never truly determined...)
I remember Donna and Rick - and their warm & welcoming hearts that were so evident in Scot. I remember our unforgettable trip to Hawaii our Senior Year. I remember wiping out with him in the Waikiki beach waves, singing at Pearl Harbor Memorial, and staying up late talking and reminiscing the past 4 years. I remember him counseling and coaching me during tough times. I remember him always having my back - and I remember looking up to him in so many ways even though we were the same height. I remember the joy I had at our 10 year reunion - introducing our wives, catching up, remimiscing, laughing and picking up right where we left off. 
I will forever be grateful for Scot, his friendship, example, and memories. 

May God bless you Scot and your entire family -  I will forever be blessed to have known you - until we meet again!

Scottie was my friend. He was like a son to me. We worked together and he would make me laugh, he would make me cry. I watched him grow and tried to be supportive of him in all his endeavors. I remember when Landon came home for the first time, how happy he was. 

We didn't always see eye-to-eye but he knew that I loved him. 

Scottie, I will miss you so much.  I will never forget you. We will see you again in the resurrection. 



I remember Sandpiper Elementary School when we first met.  I remember not being able to spell your last name.  I remember you liked chewing your nails.  I remember when you changed your last name.  I remember when your dad coached us in basketball.  I remember sleep overs at your house.  I remember your dad would make kiwi crepes for breakfast.  I remember when you moved to Tucson.  I remember visiting you in Tucson.  I remember when you moved back to Scottsdale.  I remember being happy to have my friend back in town.  I remember Desert Shadows Middle School.  I remember all of the girls liking you.  I remember you liked to sing.  I remember Horizon High School.  I remember playing basketball in my backyard.  I remember when you met Kristin.  I remember shaving our heads for basketball.  I remember all the days at Cactus Park playing hoops and lifting weights.  I remember listening to Metallica.  I remember high school graduation.  I remember you visiting me at U of A in college.  I remember you at my college graduation.  I remember your speech at my wedding.  I remember your wedding to Kristin.   I remember when our sons got to meet.  I have had so many memories flood my thoughts and dreams since learning you passed.  You will always be with me because I will never forget these memories.  You will always be remembered as an amazing friend.  God bless you and your family. 

Where do I start... I think back to when I originally met you at Horizon HS... my mind then goes to the countless hours of playing basketball together at Cactus park, Thunderbird park, the Police park... playing on Horizon's basketball team with Tom and Mike as our coaches... You and Eric competing daily for that #2 and #3 spot. Then, I was off to NAU and you were in your Sr. year dating Kristin. I'll never forget trying to go out with you and you having to ask Kristin or wait for her to go to sleep before you snuck out. Oh... my! LOL You were able to get a scholarship to Whittier but returned after 1 semester missing Kristin and being homesick, only to then walk onto ASU's basketball team. THAT is quite the accomplishment. I was amazed! I graduated NAU and went to Tennessee and celebrated your birthday that year by putting your Toyota Tacoma up for sale... I called you to with you a happy birthday and you told me about this crazy story of people calling you saying they wanted to buy your Tacoma!!! LOL You stated they starting calling at 4am!!! Hahaha. Then I met my wife, Pam, because of you... I was in your wedding. You were in my wedding. We wend on a couple vacations together to Rocky Point and a cruise. You were there when my two boys were born. You adopted Landon when my youngest was born. We lived within 2 miles of each other... My goodness, my memories are full of you Scott Zee. May you live in eternity through the hearts of those that loved you and those you loved. 

When I heard  that Scot had passed away, my heart sunk. He was the first one to talk to me when I was new to Sandpiper in 2nd grade, and he became an instant friend. He always wanted everyone to feel comfortable and welcome, even in 2nd grade! We played on baseball teams together, and some basketball teams, and I didn’t really believe in playing defense, but Scot always encouraged me and helped me out. I remember freshmen year at Horizon, when tryouts rolled around, he knew I had been working hard, but I wasn’t gonna tryout, cuz I told him the team was already picked, and guess who was positive and told me I was going to tryouts? Yup Scot did. I made 1st cuts, but didn’t make the team, I was down, but Scot said I should be the team manager, to be around the team and it would help me work on what I needed to improve, so of course I did it! He was always a great friend, and had the gift to make you feel at ease! It had been way to long since I’d seen him, but he will always hold a special place in my heart, because of his giant heart, compassion, and just being a great person! I met Scot through a mutual friend, Justin Baker.  During the summer of college, Scot and I would drive up to NAU to visit Baker. In one day we managed getting a ticket for speeding and breaking the back deck where Baker was staying.  We would hang out all summer together during our college year's. It was some of the best times of my life. We would stand up in Baker's wedding. What a great moment for all of us, seeing such an amazing friend getting married. I remember how close Scot was to his brother. How much he looked up to him. His brother would always take care of us when he worked at Pointe resort, sitting by the pool all day was rough. We talked about everything, politics, religion, you name it. I will always cherish our memories Scot. 

Scot was truly a unique soul. I met him while we were students at Horizon High School. Everyone loved him, he had a huge smile on his face constantly and always made you feel like you were special when you were in his presence. One of my memories of Scot was when I was being picked on at school and he took the time to walk over to me in the locker bay and just hugged me, while I stood there crying.  I will never forget the kindness on his face and the sweet soul that his body embodied.  He had a way of making people feel safe. Heaven gained a beautiful angel.   

Scot & I go back 30+ years playing baseball, Middle School, Graduating HS in 95 but the thing Scot had most was an infectious personality.  He was a genuine guy who everyone got along with.  He will be greatly missed.  Prayers to his entire family & friends.  Love ya Brutha!

Back in 1994, I moved from MN to AZ to attend ASU. Scot was the first friend I made that summer while I was working at PV Mall. He was full of energy and could not wait to show me around his Native AZ! There were so many things to do and see, and he loved showing me all the fun places to go. He took me to get my first AZ driver's license (made me take my picture 3 times/not sure how he talked them into allowing it, but he did!) Over time, I met his closest friends, his family and significant other. I was lucky enough to become part of his 'inner circle'. He made me feel like family. As time passed, my son came to know him as uncle Scot, and my family accepted him as part of our own. He was a brother to me, one of my best friends, and life will not be the same without him. He will be sorely missed, and not a day will go by that we will not be thinking of him. He touched so many lives and was loved by all! I love and miss you my friend! 

There are so many extraordinary memories that cannot be captured in written words, nor give the impact you deserve to describe the beauty of life. You touched so many people throughout your lifetime.  Your shining presence, contagious smile, made everyone feel welcome and like family. 
Scot, you taught Landon  to live fully and love abundantly- just as you loved him deeply and unconditionally,  as any wonderful father does. You have left us too soon, but find comfort that someday we will meet again. Until then, your legacy and your love will live on within Landon.
