

Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Aunt, Stella Wood Ramsey, age 90 of Mesa, passed away peacefully by her husband’s side on February 3, 2013 at Banner Gardens Hospice House. She was born to the late William McKinley and Violet Victoria Wood on August 25, 1922 in Saint Louis, Missouri. Stella married her prince charming, Kenneth Charles Ramsey, on November 4, 1944, in Ironton Missouri. Married for 68 years, their love for each other was evident to all. She spent her working career as an elementary school teacher. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Arizona, White Mountain Chapter #8 in Globe and the American Legion Auxiliary, William Bloys Post #2 in Tempe where she was named the oldest President of the Chapter. Stella is survived by her husband Kenneth Charles Ramsey; her son, William “Chuck” Ramsey and his wife Debbie; her two grandchildren, Douglas Ramsey and Jenna Ramsey Helser; and her two sisters, Ilaria Eckler and Aurelia Steele.
Stella is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Kenneth Frank Ramsey. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Banner Hospice, 275 East Germann Road, Suite 110, Gilbert, AZ 85297. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale. The service will be officiated by Pastor Roger Williams Jr. of Calvary Baptist Church.
