Steven William May, age 60, passed away September 24, 2019 at Banner Thunderbird Hospital after a brief illness. Steven was born November 23, 1957 in Holbrook, Arizona to Bill and Lena May. At 11 months of age, his parents, along with brother Jim moved to Flagstaff, Arizona. There he graduated from High School, going on to Grand Canyon College in Phoenix to pursue a degree in preaching ministry. Then on to Southwest Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. His first year there, he married Carol and while living there, his son, Christopher Steven was born. After graduation from Seminary, they moved to Morenci where he pastored and there his daughter, Amanda Nicole was born. Then on to Gillette, Wyoming to pastor and there Emily Christine was born. Then back home to Flagstaff where he pastored his home church, Greenlaw Baptist from 1987-1997. After a divorce from Carol, he married Jayne and had a third daughter, Rebecca Jayne. He and his family moved to Oregon in 1999. Steve resided there until 2011 when he moved back to Arizona to live out the rest of his life.

Steve’s business, Midi-Marvels was created 21 years ago and has brought accompaniment music to countless churches around the world. Steve was an accomplished pianist, starting at age 7 taking lessons on the piano. Now he has two grandsons following in his footsteps wanting and learning to play like their Grandad Steve. Steve would tell you that over the course of lessons he took, Ruth Wood was his best piano teacher. He gives her credit for wanting and learning to play church hymns (just like Ruth Wood).

Steve will be missed by so many loved ones and friends. In addition to his 4 children and their spouses, Steve is survived by his 2 brothers, Jim (Wickenburg, Az.) Mike (Mesa, Az.) His Mother, Lena May of Gilbert, Arizona. 9 grandchildren, Canden, Jacob, Caleb, Joshua, Charlotte and new baby boy (Lewis). Liliane (May-Lambert), Matthew, Macy (Kinnaman). Many nephews and nieces.

Memorial services will be held at Green Acres Funeral Home at 4:00 PM, Sunday, Oct. 6 at 40l N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, Arizona. Visitation will be from 3:30-4:00 the same day.

As my middle son, you were a bright light in my life, especially these last few years after I lost your Dad to his heavenly home. You were always complimentary of me and told me I could walk faster down my long hall than you ever could. I will miss your visits and our times together as we watched episodes of “The Good Doctor.” Your pain and suffering is over and you can enjoy your heavenly home. “Weeping may last for the nite, but JOY comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5B
I love you,
