He was born on October 9, 1952, to parents Tualemoso and Katerina AhSoon in Faleasao, Manu’a Tele Samoa where he grew up with 10 siblings.
He married his wife Sinaita’aga on August 14, 1976, in San Francisco, California. Within five years they had their four children, Easter, Jessica (Jay), Siaoloau (Foa), and Brian. As a family, they loved to share meals and spend time with extended family at their church (Samoan Assembly of God SF), Coyote Point, Orange Park, Treasure Island, and other favorite places. In 1991, Tauinaola moved his family of six to Phoenix. His family grew with the addition of his sons-in-law, Dee Samia (Jay) and Trucc Armstrong (Easter). One of Tauinaola’s greatest accomplishments was being the best father any child could wish for. Being a dependable father was of the utmost importance to him and he did not disappoint when it came to loving his family wholeheartedly.
Tauinaola was employed by Bank of America where he served dutifully for 30 years. He was known for his love of fishing, tennis, and golfing but only the lucky ones know that he was a great cook too. For nearly the last 20 years of his life, Tauinaola dedicated much of his time to his church (Samoan Congregational Christian Church AZ) as a faithful deacon. He maintained the grounds, cleaned the sanctuary and hall, organized the food for all events, provided transportation to members in need, and helped with Sunday services by leading and/or delivering the sermon.
In addition to his wife and children, Tauinaola is survived by his grandchildren Makai, Malaya, and EsetaFaith. He is also survived by his sisters Fuifuilotu Filemona, Usuimalo Nua, Siaoloau Taufu'a, Leafa AhSoon, Natali Bartley, and brothers Pine, Fa’alua, and Keith. He was preceded in passing by his parents Tualemoso and Katerina, and sisters Ese’ese Satele and Fa’atafea AhSoon.
Tauinaola’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at 11 am by invitation only.
