Hegel, V. Jean, 86, went home to be with the Lord, on December 11, 2013. Jean was born in Indiana where she met Robert, her husband of 65 years. Jean, Robert and their four children moved to Tempe, AZ in 1966. Jean was a talented singer and church choir director and instilled her love of music in her children and grandchildren. She was a published writer and active member of DAR. She loved to learn and read, and achieved her dream of going to college, receiving her Associates Arts at Mesa Community College at the age of 50. An excellent cook, her favorite times were family dinners. Jean is survived by her loving husband, Robert. She was a devoted mother and doting grandmother and is also survived by her children Debbie, Steve, Becky and Dan; and grandchildren Cindy, Chris, Ethan, Elliot, Evan and Hannah. Service is Tuesday, December 17, 2:30 p.m. at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ. Viewing before service.
