Virginia Mae Sauter, was born in West Virginia on July 4, 1915 and went to be with the Lord on May 5, 2019. Her parents, John H. Beckett and Virgie E. Chaney moved to Lake Sixteen in Southern Indiana in the late 1920's. Later in her working career, she moved to Elkhart, Indiana and for 35 years worked for Miles Laboratory (Bayer). Virginia was a devoted Christian and taught bible study for many years; her knowledge of the bible was inspiration to all she taught. She retired in 1986 and moved to Tucson, Arizona. In 1996 she relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. She is preceded in death by her husbands Henry Bertrand and Tillman E. Sauter. Siblings, Clifton Ray Beckett, Catherine (Beckett) Wright, Juna (Beckett) Galvin, Betty (Beckett) Anderson and John E. Beckett and son, Douglas L. Souter.
She is survived by her son Edwin R. (Ann) Bertrand and daughter-in-law Beverly Souter.
Grandchildren: Amy Souter, Douglas (Jenny) L. Souter Jr., Richard (Mary) Souter, Susan Souter.
Great Grandchildren: Jacob, Meghan, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Luke and Andrew Souter (Allison) and Steven Groton and Chance. Nieces and Nephews, Jim Wright, Katie Wright, Grayson Wright, Bob Cody, Mike Anderson, Roger Anderson, Dean Anderson, Everett Anderson, Barbara Hankinson and Becky Anderson.
Funeral Services will be held May 18, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Green Acres Mortuary and Cemetery 401 N. Hayden Rd. Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
He taught me how to watch and pray and live rejoicing everyday. Happy Day, Happy Day when Jesus washed my sins away.
