WANDA ADAMCHUK, loving mom, grandma and nana, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 25, 2018, in Mesa, Arizona, at the age of 94. She was born in Hamtramck, Michigan, on May 25, 1924, to John and Agnes Lasota. She was the youngest of four children, two sisters, Helen and Regina, and a brother, Johnny.
Wanda was a strong Christian, and loved the Lord. She was her family's prayer warrior. She and her husband Walt "Wally" attended Wealthy Street Baptist Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They were very active within their Sunday school class, the Emanuel Class, and to this day the family is still in contact with two of its original members. When they moved to Arizona, they attended North Phoenix Baptist Church in Phoenix, Arizona. Walt went home to be with the Lord in 1989.
Wanda loved to sew and knit, do Word Find puzzles, and play bingo. She was an avid reader, and loved romance novels. She was a frequent visitor at the local library. She was a wonderful cook, and passed on a few of her cooking secrets to her daughter, Donna, but no matter what the activity, her family was always her first priority. She loved her grandchildren deeply, and joyously celebrated the birth of all four of her great-grandchildren. When two adopted great-grandchildren were added to our family, they were welcomed with open arms and much love.
She leaves behind her daughter, Donna Carlos (Edward), grandchildren Melissa Quillard, Scott Diekema (Brandi), Sheila Amato (Shawn), and great-grandchildren Michael Diekema, Teddy Quillard, Madysen Diekema, Brianna Quillard, Melena Amato, and Theresa Amato.
