William Austin Bates

Bates, William A. “Billy” 84, of Prescott, AZ, formerly of Oak Brook, IL, born Pitcarin, PA., Dec. 14, 1927, entered into rest on Nov. 23, 2012. Retired Pres. of family owned Page Engineering Co., McCook, IL. He had many friends who he enjoyed telling his famous one liners everywhere he went. People enjoyed his humorous antics and his company. He left this earth pain free, finally. Thank you to Good Samaritan Hospice and caregiver Lisa for their great care. He will join his late wife, Lois, son Bill, daughter Marion Nicholson and brother Don. He leaves behind his loving daughter Cherrie and son-in-law Bryan Whipple, grandchildren Dawn (Pete) Holmquist, Geneva, IL., grandson Jim (Jennifer) Wiesner, W. Chicago, IL., Aimee (Rob) Redding, Wadsworth, IL., Gary (Angela) Nicholson, Mesa, AZ., great grandfather of 9, and he will miss his first great-great granddaughter in Feb. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and countless friends who were always there to help him. Grandpa Cowboy, we all love you and miss you. Rest in peace.
