Allan Phan passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025 at the age of 88, having lived a full and vibrant life.
He was born in Da Nang, Vietnam on July 22, 1937. He chose to pursue his passions and became a teacher of language and dance. The latter was what brought him to Taiwan where he met his beautiful wife, Chin. He returned to Vietnam in 1970 to continue teaching and inspiring students.
After immigrating to the United States in 1976, Allan made his home in Seattle to be near his mom and 4 siblings. He was an avid traveler, especially to Asia, and a true foodie who loved Asian cuisines. His children recall driving out of the country from Seattle to Vancouver BC just to have dinner. He was also an exceptional cook specializing in Vietnamese Banh Xeo, Flan, and French chicken tomato stew. He delighted in inviting friends and family to his home so he could cook for them.
His charisma and gift for words meant he was a sought-after Master of Ceremonies for special events. He especially enjoyed hosting the Tho Nhon reunions in California, where he reconnected with his former students and fellow teachers from Vietnam.
Allan had a keen psychic sense which enabled him to read palms and assess Feng Shui energy. It’s no wonder he was often the life of the party with people lining up wanting their fortunes told. He loved to play Baccarat and would spend hours explaining strategy to someone if they let him. Allan spared no expense to have a top-of-the line stereo system at his house immersing his family in classic oldies.
In recent years, Allan’s motto was “Health is the most important, not money”. May we all heed his wise advice.
Allan is now reunited in heaven with Chin, his beloved wife of 61 years. He is remembered by his three children, Yafen Field (Brad), Yaping Pizzo (Stephen), and Richard Phan (Kiki); his grandchildren, Ashley, Anneliese, Phoenix, Aylee, and Melody; and his great-grandson, Hudson.
The family asks that you RSVP to the memorial service and lunch reception via the below link no later than Wednesday, November 19th, 2025. Thank you.
