Arlene Leonard passed away on a beautiful sunny Tuesday morning. Growing up in Yakima she was the daughter of a real cowboy. There, she met the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Harold. They moved to Seattle after WWII, bought a quaint little house north of the city, and started a family. She was blessed with two lovely daughters. First came Cathy, who inherited her caring and steadfastness, and then came Jeanine, with whom she endowed her amazing creativity and positive spirit.
In her warm kitchen, she filled the hearts and stomachs of her family and friends with her love. An avid gardener with all fingers green, there wasn’t a weed she could pass without pulling it from the earth. She touched many young lives volunteering in classrooms, helping children with reading and math.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Jeanine, and her son-in-law, Teo, as well as her grandson, Brian, and his wife, Kimber, and the final spark in her life- her great-grandson, Jensen.
