Bert Henry Butterfield

Bert passed away peacefully at his home on February 13, 2017 at age 81. Bert was born to Wyartt Grant Butterfield and Alma Louise Farcy on May 20, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA. He was then raised in Tacoma, WA. He attended Stadium High School and enlisted in the United States Navy and served four proud years to his country. Bert retired from the Boeing Co. after 33 years in May of 1990 at the age of 55 years.

Bert had an inventive mind, had an extreme passion for classic cars and all things mechanical. He loved watching sports, cooking and gardening, especially growing cucumbers and giving them out to family and friends. One of his greatest joys in life was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren with whom he loved dearly. Bert was a loving son, brother, father (Pop’s), uncle, grandfather and great grandfather (he was called Poppy by his grandchildren and great granddaughters) He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Bert is survived by daughter Tanya Dolan, son Barry Butterfield, daughter in-law Cathy Butterfield, son in-law Greg Dolan; sisters Babe Hickman and Alayne Butterfield; 4 grandchildren Brent Butterfield, Cory Butterfield, Erin Dolan and Sean Dolan, along with 2 great granddaughters all of whom he cherished and loved dearly. He will forever and always be in our hearts.

In Lieu of funeral services a Celebration of Life will be held at a date, TBD.
