Betty Jean Lindmark ...(1924-2020) 'A Great Dane'. Our mother was beautiful inside and out. She raised 3 children who adored her, Linda (David) Rochelau, Julie (Bill) Garbarino & Gary Lindmark.

Betty was born in Spokane Dec 6., 1924 to her Danish parents, Jens C. and Laura Thomsen. She died in a Seattle Hospital of acute leukemia on July 16, 2020.

She had many brothers and sisters but Betty was the baby of the family of 10 and they predeceased her. Anna, Harold, Myrtle, Mildred, Walt, Harley, Noble, Merrill (Bob) & Grant. Her family was very important to her and when her beloved husband, Bert, died of heart failure in 2001 in Vancouver, WA, while they were visiting relatives there, she was devasted.

Betty was a very intelligent woman and skipped a grade in high school in Spokane. Later she worked as a bookkeeper for Lindmark Machine Works in Seattle.

Betty was happily raised with her niece Janet Dodds who was only about 6 months younger than Betty. They both loved to ride horses together.

Betty was very athletic and loved to dance and ice skate & ski. She and her husband had season tickets for the Seahawks & Sonics. They went to the Pacific NW Ballet together and the Seattle Opera. They appreciated traveling when they were able to take time off from work.

Betty loved animals, dogs, cats, raccoons, horses & she rescued many homeless pets and tried to find good homes for them.

Betty was blessed with 2 grandchildren, Brian O'Neal & Erika (Ron) Peluso and they blessed her with 3 great grandchildren, Coralie, Freya & Alessa. Lisette Terry & Rose Savillo were part of her beloved family. From her daughter Julie's 2nd marriage Betty was blessed with a step granddaughter, Anna, and 2 step great-great grandchildren, Tessa and Ellie.

Special nieces and nephews & family: Ann & Scott Wells, Carol & her brother Gary Thomsen, Mike & Karen Dodds, Terry, Harley & sister Barbara Thomsen, Curt Thomsen, the Lindgren families originally of Spokane, the Davis sisters.
