At 10:12 on Tuesday morning, April 15th, God released Betty Lou from the failing body that she had used so well for so many years. It is time for her to dance and sing again, with her beloved husband Jack and all the family and friends that have preceded her.
A 1939 graduate of UW with a BA in Art and Costume Design, and a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, and a long-time resident of the Bellevue/Issaquah area, Betty lived her 96+ years to the fullest.
From her years helping Jack with his many baseball teams, to the raising of their three children. From the trips she was able to take around the country with her friend Kitty and the trips around the world with Jack and with her church group, and on into her 80’s when still, x-country skiing in the winter became golf in the summer. Betty, also enjoyed taking walks, puppets, painting with lively colors, and reading. All the while she used her God-given talents as an artist to share and to teach painting and music. It has always been clear that God put her on this earth to bring more colors and music to everyone she met.
She could not be more proud of her family - and she felt that way without taking any credit. So humble and inspiring. She joins her husband, best friend, and love of her life of 32 years, Jack Stansbery. She leaves behind her children, John (Barbara), Tom, Judi (Chris); 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, many loving extended family and literally thousands of lives she touched.
She and Jack were charter members, in 1956, of the Eastgate Congregational Church and it was their life for so many years. Its importance in her life never faded. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on June 13th at:
Eastgate Congregational Church

A special "Thank you" to her caregivers at the Stanwood Garden House, who lovingly cared for her during her residence there.
And all felt something, at 10:12 Tuesday morning, When God said “Come with me - its time, time to dance and sing.”
