Carol was born in Everett to Irene F. McPherson (Paschel) & Donald E. McPherson Carol is preceded by her parents. Carol grew up in the Everett area & was a graduate of Everett High School. Carol also went two years to Everett Junior College with no degree. Carol worked in a number of offices for the Everett School District. She eventually retired after a number of years of service at the Everett Courthouse.
In the early years Carol & Mike Stahl were married and lived in Marysville where they had a son, James M. Stahl. Jim had a love for fishing and turned his love into a fishing guide service. Which was outstanding and made many friends and relatives happy with his outstanding ability to catch fish. This included me! (Ed). Carol and Mike were married for ten years. During that time I (Ed) was also married to Carol’s cousin , Sharon J. Dorr (McPherson). We were all part of each other’s weddings. After my wife
passed on to live with God and our Lord. Carol and I got together after 5 years. Carol being a people person we told our families that we were going to get together after doing some pruning on our family trees. We were married to each other! We spent 16 wonderful years together prior to her death. This last year being hard.
On June 9th, 2019 Carol had a devastating stroke with the loss of all control on her left side. This included her left eye, eating, and speaking control. She was at Swedish Hospital Edmonds after a 911 call. Then moved, (the same day) to Swedish Hospital Cherry Hill, Seattle. Prior to the end of June, Carol was moved to Richmond Beach Rehab. Center where she spent time in rehab. She did gain control in her left eye along with eating, drinking and speech control. She only gained control on her left side neck to her left shoulder. She couldn’t regain control of her left arm, hand, left leg and left foot.
Carol was a United Methodist and a member of Cedar Cross Methodist Church in Mill Creek. Carol was called to be with God and our Lord between 6:00 and 7:00 am on Feb. 20, 2020.
Carol is survived by her loving husband Edward D. Dorr; Sister and Brother in Law, Donna & Stan Storwick of Osoyoos, BC Canada; Son, James M. Stahl of Tulalip, WA; Niece, Denise & Kyle Kitagawa of Calgary, AB Canada,
their children: Calder & Kellan; Nephew, David Storwick & Mary Fischer of Canmore, AB Canada; Niece, Nancy Storwick & David Blair of Calgary, AB Canada, their children: Dorian & Brianna; Step Son, Jeffrey A. Dorr of Mountlake Terrace, WA; Step Daughter, JoDee Y. Asbury &Todd, their children: Kaylene Asbury (granddaughter), Keagan Asbury (grandson), Kaleb Asbury (grandson), All of Monroe, WA; Step Daughter, Julene P. Skittrall of Lake Stevens, WA, her children: Celina Skittrall (granddaughter)
of Everett, WA, Collin Skittrall (grandson) of LakeStevens, WA, Noah Skittrall (grandson) serving in the U.S. Marines, Hometown Lake Stevens, WA; Granddaughter, Kaylene Asbury (above) & Michael Horner, their children: Aiden Asbury/ Deatherage (great grandson)(6), Gerald Horner (great grandson) (2), with another great grandson on the way from Monroe, WA.
Carol had a teddy bear collection of over 100! When Aiden, Carol’s 6 year old great grandson heard of her passing he said he wanted to throw a teddy bear in the air so Carol could catch it!
