Charles Leonard Schley, 73, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at home with his beloved Susan by his side. Charles was a steady, thoughtful presence in many moments of his life, and he will be dearly missed by his family and all who loved him.
Charles built a successful 50 year career as a pharmacist in the state of Washington, a profession that reflected his patience, dedication, and desire to help others. He approached his work with quiet consistency and a strong sense of responsibility.
He is survived by his six children — Rebecca, Amy, Catherine, Debra, Jennifer, and Daniel — his sister, Vergia, his former spouse and lifelong friend, Susan, and his many grandchildren who brought him great pride and joy.
Charles was not a man everyone knew well, and like all of us, he had his imperfections. But he knew God, and in the later years of his life he was a changed man. He worked hard to make amends where he could, to soften old edges, and to leave things better than he found them. His efforts mattered greatly. They showed his heart and made a tangible difference in the lives of many.
As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories that reflect his full life and lasting legacy — Charles was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. He will be remembered as a man seeking peace, offering love in the ways he knew how, and trying to make things right. He will be missed, but thanks to the love he gave and the growth and strength he showed, he will remain in our hearts forever.
“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

“For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
