Cindy was born in Boston, Massachusetts on February 26th, 1947. She moved to Seattle at an early age and grew up in the Sand Point area before moving to Bellevue. Cindy resided on the eastside for most of her adult life. She also briefly lived in Scottsdale, Arizona and most recently, in Tualatin, Oregon with the love of her life, Rod.
Cindy graduated from Sammamish High School in 1965. She went on to attend Bellevue Community College and then got her first taste of “sales” working as a sales associate for Rhodes Department Store. Cindy was married in 1967 and was a homemaker and full-time mother until she returned to the workforce in the late 1970’s.
In 1978, Cindy began her long career in the telecommunications business. She quickly rose through the ranks to become a sales manager for numerous cell phone companies (McCaw Cellular, ATT Wireless, US West, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile).
After leaving the cell phone industry in 2007, Cindy went on to work a variety of jobs. Her love of travel led her to her last career as a travel agent. Cindy loved traveling the world with Rod, her family, and her friends. Some of her favorite places to visit were Hawaii, Arizona, Southern California, and Europe. Cindy and Rod also loved to take spontaneous, weekend getaway trips to explore the Oregon Coast or Central Oregon.
Cindy created friends wherever she went in life. She was a devoted, caring, lifelong friend to many and shared her warmth, kindness, and humor with all the friends she loved dearly. One of Cindy’s most favorite things to do was to go out to eat with her friends. She loved to plan luncheons, catch up with her friends, and celebrate them with a little gift. She seemed to always remember birthdays, holidays, or other special events in someone’s life and would bring them a little something she had picked out especially for them.
Cindy was well known for her green thumb. Every home she has ever lived in was surrounded by a beautiful flower garden. She spent many hours in her garden and loved sharing photos of her prized flowers on social media. Some of Cindy’s favorite flowers to grow were roses, dahlias, tulips, gardenias, and nasturtiums.
Cindy also had a great love for animals. She owned many dogs, cats, and even a few llamas in her lifetime and had a special loving bond with her granddog Gus.
Cindy’s overwhelming love for her family, her hysterical sense of humor, and her warm loving hugs will be greatly missed. Her death has left a huge hole in her family that can never be filled.
Cindy is survived by her partner in life, Rodney Wegener, her children Kim Heuser (Teri Esser) and Kevin Heuser (Adrienne), her siblings Cheryl Booth (John) and Mike Nolan (Nina), her grandchildren Jilliana, Cammilyn, Spencer, and Landon as well as her nephew and nieces Alex, Emily, and Lilly.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
