David Richard Scott was born at home April, 5, 1927 in the Lake City Area of Seattle, Washington to Madge Christine (King) Scott born in Fall City, Washington, 1892 and Harry Sherry Scott in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, 1889. He was the youngest of four children. His sister Grace and brothers Jim and Walt, preceded him in death.
Dave attended Lincoln High School where he was a member of the track team. He attended many track meets and often had his picture in the paper. During the summer he worked as a laborer on a housing development project with his dad. They built 50 houses in the Cherry Hill area.
He was drafted into the Army when he was a junior in High School. The war ended while he was in basic training at Camp Roberts in California. Dave was then stationed at Seoul, Korea where he was a Supply NCO who made Sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 1947.
He married M. Lois Jensen whom he had known since grade school and together they had six children. Judith, Kathy, Kenneth, Janis, Cheryl and Cynthia. The family lived in the Northgate area of Seattle, Washington.
He retired after more than 30 years from N.W. Hospital where he had worked his way up to manager of Plant Operations. While working at the hospital he was asked twice to go with a group of doctors and nurses to Russia where they studied their hospitals and made suggestions on ways to improve them. He was very proud of his involvement in that project.
Dave also spent one year as president of the Seattle Hospital Association and three years as president of the Washington State Hospital Association.
After retiring he moved to a house he built on Camano Island. He met and married a neighbor, Beverly McCollum Pierce. They enjoyed gardening and traveled in their motorhome. Eventually they moved to Mount Vernon, Washington where they enjoyed gardening and retirement.
David is preceded in death by his first wife M. Lois Scott, daughter Kathy Scott, Kenneth Scott, second wife Beverly Scott and his grandson Jason Dean.
He leaves behind his daughters Judith Shepp, Janis Maddox, Cheryl Nelson, Cynthia Pollock, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
