

Eleanor Capeloto HughesEllie was born in Seattle on April 22, 1923 to Samuel and Ada Capeloto. She was the only daughter and eldest of five children. Preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Joseph Hughes, her parents and brothers Morrie and Bill Capeloto. She is survived by her four sons Gary, Dan (Dotty), Kevin (Fae), Brian (Helen), and brothers Jack (Janet), Larry (Jenny) Capeloto, her sister-in laws Jeanne Capeloto and Carol Fish, her grandchildren Tristan (Aprille) Hughes, Amy (Andy) Zottman, Bridgett (Ron) Cabiles, Joey, Brittany, Stephanie and Kristi Hughes. Ellie had four great granddaughters, Malia and Eliana Zottman; Leila and Vanessa Cabiles. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.Ellie attended Leschi Grade School and graduated from Garfield High. She and Bob eloped to Jackson Oregon while Bob was serving in the Army during World War II. They were married on May 19, 1943 and enjoyed over 43 years of marriage before Bob died in 1986. Ellie was active in Sweet Adelines for most of her life where she made many lifetime friends. She served on the Fred Hutch Research Center Guild and Children's Orthopedic Guild as Vice President. She was employed at Alki Cleaners in West Seattle and also as a secretary for the Intl. Union of Operating Engineers Local #302. Ellie had a beautiful voice and so enjoyed music and singing; she performed at the Spanish Castle as a singer before her marriage.Ellie was a devoted and loving mother to her four sons, her large family and numerous friends. She passed gently in her sleep at home on November 25, 2014 at age 91. Her family wishes to give special thanks to her eldest son Gary for all the loving care he gave Mom during her last years.Private family interment at Forest Lawn Mausoleum at 2:00 p.m. Please join us for a reception for family and friends at 3:30 p.m. at the Alki Masonic Center, 4736 40th Ave. SW, Seattle, WA. 98116.
