Emil was born in Patterson, NJ on August 27, 1929 to Emil Winterhalder & Emma Trendall. His sister Alice & brother Carl preceded Emil in death. Emil has a nephew who lives in California, his name is Art Duim. Emil’s first wife (1955-1974) was Mary, they had 2 sons, Wade & Carl & a nephew Louie & his family. Emil & his wife, Rose were married in Reno, NV on 4-2-2000. They had a limousine ride to the chapel. They traveled to Reno, Las Vegas & Laughlin many times. There were District 1 Jim Beam meetings in Laughlin. Emil collected many Jim Beam bottles. I went to visit his nephew Art many times in Palm Springs, CA. Emil & Rose used to enjoy music & dancing every Saturday night. He loved traveling to Hawaii (9 times). 2 of the 9 times included Maui & the Big Island & every time (Honolulu). We took an 11 day tour of Italy, also spent 3 nights in Germany. We saw the Mercedes Benz factory. He owned lots of cars including 2 Model T’s. He used to belong to the Model A & Golden Era car club & Model T-Tacoma, WA. Emil belonged to the fraternal order of the Eagles for over 40 years. (Over 30 years at Ballard & remaining at White Center Eagles.) Emil belonged to Jim Beam International Bottle Club for over 40 years. He attended many conventions including Reno & Sparks, Nevada. Rose also went with him to Reno & Sparks conventions & many past District 1 Jim Beam in Laughlin, Nevada. Emil joined the Order of the Sons of Italy (Seattle Fedele 1390) in January 2001. He loved the dinners with wine & awesome raffles. He loved going with Rose to some all Italian picnics at Royal Arch Park in Maple Valley every August. He brought a collectible car there for the car show. He also enjoyed the Italian Festivals at the Seattle Center, Spring Banquet at Kennedy High School in March and wine festivals at Kennedy High School in October. He loved when I made Italian spaghetti. I miss him very much.
