Estrella Ngu Quant

She was born on October 5th, 1929 in Hoiping, Laogong Hern Village, Guangdong Province, China. Estrella was the 3rd child of a large family of 11 siblings. Her father, Ng Leung Choon was a doctor and her mother, Chan Sui Wan was a midwife from the countryside. Estrella in her teens, followed her mother’s footsteps and became a midwife as well. At the age of 19, she married Francisco Quant, an overseas Chinese from Indonesia. After getting married, they had two beautiful daughters. In 1957, she and her husband moved from China to Bluefield, Nicaragua to start an import and export business. Estrella was good and supportive wife, helping her husband run all aspects of the business. As a mother, Estrella did her best to move her two daughters to the United States from mainland China. She knew this will give her daughters opportunity to build their own beautiful family which now Estrella is blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Estrella was survived by her eldest daughter, Hing Wa Cheung. Granddaughter Julie Ngai (her husband Sam Ngai). Grandson Richard Cheung (his wife Suria Lee). Great-grandson, Ethan Ngai, great-granddaughter Ellee Ngai and great-grandson Camden Cheung

Estrella was survived by her second daughter, Hing Fong Wong and her husband son-in-law Hin Shing Wong. Granddaughter Tracy Wong. Granddaughter Amy Wong (her husband Lamont Ong). Grandson Edmond Wong. Great-granddaughter Adelyn Ong and great-grandson Grayson Ong.

The daughters of Estrella Quant, Hing Wa Cheung and Hing Fong Wong and their family would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation for all the kindness, thoughtful gestures, and support during this bereavement. They also want to extend a big thank you to their extended family in Nicaragua (The Cuan’s) for sheltering and taking care of their mom the past 3 years in Nicaragua after the passing of her husband. They have helped the family in so many ways, words cannot express their gratitude. Once again, thank you for keeping the family in your thoughts.
