Eva was born to Charles and Eva Cowan August 18, 1926 in Chinook, Montana. Her husband, Edwin Zanassi, passed away just last year in December after 56 wonderful years of marriage. She followed him in passing on March 20, 2017 following a brief illness.
Eva grew up in Montana on a farm, raised by her aunt and uncle. She briefly moved to Alaska as a young adult working at a canary. After completing college to be a registered nurse, she worked at a couple different hospitals before settling at the Seattle VA Hospital. Eva was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to spend her free time playing Bridge with her closest friends, square dancing, going out to eat at favorite restaurants, reading, and the daily crossword puzzle in the Seattle Times. Most of all she loved her family and is survived by her daughter, Elaine Zanassi and granddaughter Danielle Zanassi.
A Memorial service for Eva is being held at Acacia Funeral Home on Friday, March 31 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Planned Parenthood, Evergreen Hospice or the Democratic National Party.
