Gordon was born on May 13, 1950, the youngest of 6 children in Nova Scotia, Canada to Annie (Doucet) and Louis Ludger Pothier. He left school after 6th grade to support himself and his family after his father passed away. Gordon went on to work for the next six decades, mostly in maintenance. Despite having only an elementary school education, there was nothing he could not fix. He was always willing to use his skills to lend a helping hand and was the on-call handyman for his family and friends.
Gordon met his first wife, Victoria (Vicki) in 1969 in Reading, MA, and they were married shortly thereafter making Somerville, MA their home. They were the proud parents to Gordon (1971), and Kim (1972). In 1991, he married his second wife, Lorraine, and moved to Florida where they lived for the next 20 years. In 2011, Gordon moved to Seattle, WA to be closer to family and remained there until his death.
Gordon was a man of few words and showed his deep love for his family through his quiet presence. When his grandchildren were young he loved nothing more than to be on the floor playing games or building sandcastles at the beach with them. He was also an avid sports enthusiast frequently cheering on the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Seattle Kraken or any car racing event. He even tried his hand at golf and had a fierce winning streak at putt-putt in his Aegis community. His gentle soul and easy smile will be missed.
Gordon is survived by his son Gordon B. Pothier, Jr and daughter-in-law Lisa Pothier of Foxborough, MA, daughter Kimberly (Kim) Stone and son-in-law John Stone of Seattle, WA, grandchildren Jenna and Dylan Pothier, and Harper and Grady Stone. He is preceded in death by his parents and second wife, Lorraine Pothier.
