J Delaine (Dee) Hill, 96, of Mill Creek, WA died Saturday, May 1 while surrounded by her family. Dee was a very caring person who was always eager to lend a helping hand to others. She will be greatly missed by many close family and friends.
Dee was born in Everett, WA October 20, 1924, to James E and Bertha McPherson. She graduated from Everett High School in 1942. During WWII she felt a sense of duty and joined the Cadet Nurse Corps. She then went on to graduate from Providence School of Nursing with a RN certificate in 1946. Dee worked in various capacities as an RN for more than 30 years. She referred to herself as a life long student and to that end she graduated cum laude from University of Washington Bothell with a Bachelors Degree in International Studies at the age of 79. Music and travel were also special interests which she shared with many.
Dee was predeceased by her husband, William F Hill, their infant son, Randall Wayne Hill, her five brothers and sisters and a great-granddaughter. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Irene Hill of Kirkland WA, and her daughter, Camille Eddy of Hudson, FL. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Nicol (Jon) Whipple of Spokane, WA and Angela Hill Meringoff of Chestnut Hill, MA, 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
At Dee’s request there will be no services. She will be buried in Pleasant Ridge cemetery in Mount Vernon, WA. If you wish, donations may be made to Lighthouse for the Blind or to another charity of your choice.
