Dear Dad, miss you everyday and always thinking about you. It's been a trying time and thank you for being here for me,as always. You know what I mean! The power of positive and can't never did anything! That's helped me along the way and knowing I have your love and support. It's been cold and the winter feels long. I'm so longing for spring and days at the cabin, where I feel more close with you and mom. We have new neighbors at the cabin and you would love them. Uncle Jim is well and always looking out for us. Dad, I miss you every day!  I'm trying to do right by you, despite all the obstacles.  It's hard, but you probably knew that.  I'm taking good care of Mom,  but you probably knew that too! I'm trying really hard to "Do the right thing ".  Please help me to "Be the better person". I love and miss you!

Dad, I miss you and still talk to you everyday, always asking you what your'e thoughts are about  a million things! Some how I figure it out and know that you are there beside me helping me along the way. I miss you more than you could possibly know. So much love is what You taught us when we were growing up and I  will always keep that in my heart I love you and know YOU  ARE ALWAYS WITH ME To the best dad in the whole world I LOVE YOU

                                  Joe Krofchek a man of love! 


Today we honor the life of my father Joseph Andrew Krofchek sr,   my dad was a strong man of god a loving husband and father. 

 To sum up my fathers life in one word that word would be Love. 

    Corinthians 13:4-8          Describes Love likes this.

 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.


 Whether you referred to my Father as Mr K, Big Joe, Papa Joe or as my dad sometimes referred to himself as Leo Petrovoski.  
I think what I loved most about my father was his sense of humor! 
 I can't even remember how many time I heard that 
 “Wide Month Frog” joke?       
Even in the toughest times Dad would always find a way to get you to smile with a joke or maybe recalling an embarrassing moment you may have had? 
And if he wasn't busy telling you a joke he surely had a story or two to tell, My Dad had more stories then anyone I know and he could talk for hours!  
One of the greatest gifts I think my dad left us is his ability to love and spread love, the love he had for our family was infinite and we all carry that love forward everyday with our own families. 
      I often think about the lyrics in that Beatles song.
  “In the end the love you make is equal to the love you take”  
I know my father has touched so many lives during his time here on earth and he has been such an amazing example of love for all of us. 
My dad always taught us right from wrong,  always taught us to love each other,  he would always say stuff like, work hard and good things will happen, in a conflict he would say to walk away or be the bigger man, if you cant say anything nice don't say anything at all.  He always was a peacemaker for all of us Krofchek kids.   
I know the stresses of everyday life can change ones course and sometimes we forget those simple principles of peace, love and kindness but Dad you should rest easy knowing you have laid the foundation for us.
We will raise our own children in the same manor as you raised us, always telling them and showing them everyday that we love them. 
Dad you have always been the rock for our entire family and now it's our turn to carry that torch.    
We are all proud of you dad and I know your equally proud of each and every of us!  
 You will forever remain in our hearts    Thank for an amazing life
                                       We will always love you!

Dear Krofchek family,
Thank you for sharing the light of your father's life.  I was touched to hear the testamonies of the man he was.  Though the days may seem sad and empty these last few weeks, his memory can also bring you strength and courage as you face the loss. I am getting his book and I hope it will make me a better person by just reading it.  I pray for peace and comfort from the Lord Jesus Christ for all of you.

Kathy, Karen, Kristine,Karoline, Bob, Joe...What a wonderful father Uncle Joe was.  He will be missed by countless people including myself.  I so enjoyed the many conversations we had over the last few years.  His devotion to all of you and especially to Aunt Sylvia was...well remarkable.  He was so in love with Sylvia and only concerned for her well-being.  He would talk about each of you in much detail.  What you were doing, accomplishing, feeling about whatever the situation was at the time.  He was so proud of all of you.  We would compare grandchildren stories only recently.  Since I'm a "newbie" at it of course his stories would wildly surpass mine.  His grandchildren were an extra blessing for him. Like icing on the cake.  Your legacy is so great given the gift you were bestowed by God--a great husband, father, grandfather, brother, Uncle, friend.  My sympathies to all of you through this time as we revisit the many good memories we have of your father.

Dear Dad, 
               You have always been my hero. You were a dad, unlike any other, you could do anything! Can't never did anything,you used to say. So I always tried, because thats what you taught me to do.Maybe I couldn't do it, but not because I didn't try first. Sometimes all I really needed, was a big hug, a kiss and a smile from you. That would fix my whole world! Whenever something happens in my world, you are the one I call. So now I will long to feel that big hug and kiss and keep looking to see your smile. I know I can find it always close by,not just in my heart,but in my garden,when I see the hummingbirds flying by, the eagle at the cabin, when the fish are jumping, and especially when I spot that spider weaving his web. You will always be with me. I want to thank you for the all the things you have taught me, about people and life and how to appreciate the little things. Special "gifts" I call them, and they weren't just for me , they were and are for everyone's life you have touched! Now it is your turn to rest and have peace. I want you to know "WE" are going to be fine. It's just that we all miss you so very much. I will be thinking of you each and everyday and feeling that big hug, that I know you are sending me. Joe was a kind, thoughtful man. I was the recipient of his hospitality and good cooking. He leaves behind a legacy of love. Now he is in the place of perfect love in God's arms. Blessings and peace to all his family and friends.

I was lucky enough to have met Joe and Sylvia when I was 12 years old as a good friend of Karen krofchek.  Back then I did not know how lucky I was!!  I was smart enough to know that there was something very special about him, however I think back then I probably thought I knew everything.  It took me 42 years to reflect on all the wonderful things that he did for all of his kids friends.  He would drive us to football games in Kent, WA and I remember it would seem like a fun road trip with Joe.  I don't know how he had the time in his busy work life, home life and possibly hobbies, but he always found the time. There are so many wonderful qualities to write about Joe, but if you knew him, you already know.   He always had a fun open house for friends and when you needed guidance or advice he was a good listener, as well as a talker.  I can remember he always took in stray kids that were having difficult times in their lives that I would now consider somewhat like a life coach/mentor and he was always rooting for you.  He was kind, generous and a “Mr. Mom” before the term was introduced.  Everyone that knew him respected and loved him.   I want to thank the Krofchek family for sharing such a wonderful man and I hope they all understand what an impact he had on each and everyone's lives he touched.  I feel blessed to have known him as a Krofchek friend and I am so sorry for this huge loss.   My deepest Sympathy to the beautiful family he leaves behind.

Having met your family over 40 years ago….I definitely clocked a few hours at the Krofchek compound during my junior/senior high school years.  I know how close you all were to your dad and what an influence he had on your lives. He had such an amazing personality. Your father was an exceptional man, and it seems that he has left us too soon. Sometimes life doesn't seem fair. Joe is one of the good guys. He will be missed terribly.

I am so sorry and saddened to hear of Joe's passing. I did not have the privilege of seeing him in the past few years but he always had a very special place in my heart. He was a father to me when I needed one and influenced my life in ways I still haven't probably realized. He was a wonderful man, father and husband. He will be missed by those blessed to know him. It is so hard to say goodbye to your big brother.  He has been there my entire life.  We have such great memories growing up together and then with our families meeting at his cabin or celebrating holidays.  Hanging out, talking, telling stories in Seattle, Sedro-Woolley, Yuma and Sun City will be so greatly missed.  Our family will fill the void with the very cherished great times we had together.

I've been trying to avoid the reality that you are really gone all week... I don't want it to be real. Just last week I was talking with you and talking about the Seahawks and the big game and STEAK! I miss your smile and your ornery remarks and your chuckles. I miss you so much it hurts... I love you papa. Until I see you again...

I have known Joe for just under five years..., but he has always made me feel like we've known each other forever!  Talking to Joe (well listening to Joe) I not only learned about Joe, his life & family, I also learned some things about myself & the way I conduct my life.  Joe's total devotion to his family & friends has been a real inspiration & at times a  eye opener for me. 
   I can say without a doubt that Joe's selflessness was absolute, and at a level that I found amazing & unparalleled! 
   I consider it an honor to have known Joe, and I strongly believe that not only will his devotion & inspiration always be with his family & friends, but anyone who has spent much time with Joe can't help but be a better person from having know him!!

We are so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Krofchek family.

It's all seems like a dream dad knowing your gone.  The other day I climbed high to a mountaintop looking out at gods beautiful creation of the valley below and just sat in remembrance of you and all my pain and sorrow just faded away knowing you are in heaven looking down on us. The void in my heart you left in passing will surely be filled with warm memories of you that l will carry with me for rest of my life. I will love and cherish every moment we had together. Memories of Uncle Joe are always happy thoughts.   He was the funnest person and always generous and happy.   We spent many happy times with him and family over our childhood.  What a special man.

I remember the days I use to sit on my papa's lap and show him how big my mouth was as I'd try to fit my fist into it. I remember every time I saw him climbing on his lap and begging him to tell me the 3 little pigs story, and each time it was unique and different just like every story he told. No one could tell a story like Papa Joe could. I remember always being so excited when he came to visit our house because it meant sugary donuts for breakfast! I remember the days at the cabin, my most favorite place, swimming and playing and laughing with Papa and family. Heaven yet again has gained a beautiful angel. So happy he is pain free, but miss him so much. He is dancing with angels! I will carry these memories with me forever and one day will tell my kids the proper way to tell the 3 little pigs stories, just like Papa Joe did. My heart aches with pain now from the loss my family has had to face these past months, but Jesus will heal me. Just so happy to know that this isn't the end and one day I will see you again!
