It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to Judy Ann Farrington. Judy was born April 2, 1939 to Thomas and Iris Liddy in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was raised in Columbus and O’ Neill, Nebraska with her siblings Michael, Tanny and Colleen. She met her beloved husband Dan Farrington while he was attending the University of Nebraska, and she was in nursing school. They were married for 61 years until Dan’s death in March 2020.
Judy was a wonderful wife and partner for Dan as he pursued his academic and professional careers. She raised three lovely daughters and instilled in them a great passion for family and community. Judy was a master gardener, a gourmet cook, an excellent seamstress, and a professional volunteer. Judy was the consummate lady who never let the moss grow under her feet. She was involved in every community she lived in, was a girl scout leader, an art museum docent, an adult acolyte, a patron of the theater arts, a hostess to Dan’s international colleagues, and a great friend to all she met.
Judy was a beautiful person inside and out and set a great example for her daughters and grandchildren on how to live a life of joy while enduring a debilitating disease, as she suffered from rheumatoid arthritis for over 50 years. We watched her through the years never falter in the face of adversity and live her life with her head held high. Judy showed her love in many ways: delicious home-cooked meals, elaborate holiday celebrations, couture hand sewn prom dresses, showing up to all her daughters’ school events, and thoroughly spoiling her grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her partner in life Dan Farrington, her infant daughter Robin Ann, and her beloved brother Michael Liddy. She is survived by her sisters Tanny Liddy and Colleen Groth, numerous nieces and nephews; her three daughters, Mary Lisa Farrington (Peter Vogeli), Jenifer Elizabeth Mooney (Bill Mooney), and Sarah Price Farrington Crinklaw (Ken Crinklaw); and her eight grandchildren Stephanie, Katherine (Mitch Martinez), and Owen Vogeli; Elizabeth, Erin, Lucy, and Dan Mooney; and Daniel Crinklaw.
The Farrington family is so grateful and thankful for the love, support and care provided during the final years of Judy’s life by her best friend and caregiver, Peggy Lamb, as well as the staff at Aegis Assisted Living Marymoor for their support during this time.
We will miss Judy and remember her always with love in our hearts.
