Kevin was born on February 21, 1968 in Los Angeles, CA to Takao and Maile (Tsukimura) Taniguchi. He received his Economics degree from the University of California Santa Barbara, and worked in customs compliance and logistics for over 20 years. During the “Summer of Kevin” in 2013, he met his wife, Maria Cristina (Cricket) Limlingan and they married on June 12, 2015. They raised two daughters, Hanna Mayumi and Emi Tala in Seattle, WA.
Kevin loved to travel, drink coffee and eat good food which he anonymously wrote about in his blog, Seattle Unexplored. He enjoyed good music which he shared with family and friends through the many playlists he made. Kevin was also a true sports fan, spending many a weekend with friends and family watching the LA Lakers, LA Dodgers, and Seattle Seahawks. But more than anything, Kevin loved his family. He wrote regular emails to his girls to share his observations, stories and life lessons. In one email, he encourages Hanna and Emi to always treat people with respect, kindness and humility, even if they needed to go out of their way or against the norm to do it. This is the philosophy he lived by and will be part of his legacy.
Kevin is survived by his wife Cricket, their two children, Hanna and Emi, his parents, Takao and Maile and his brother and family, Kyle, Claire and Lucas. Kevin’s life will be celebrated through the following ways:
1. A virtual mass will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 6:00pm (PST).
2. A cremation ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 10:30am (PST) at the Acacia Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Seattle, Washington.
