He will be remembered for his intelligence, sense of humor, love of travel and his willingness to help others.
Khanh was born in Vietnam but lived most of his life in the Puget Sound. He graduated at the top of his high school class and received the prestigious Washington Scholar award. After attaining a B.A. from the University of Washington, he continued to San Francisco State University where he earned an M.A. in Ethnic Studies. One of the highlights of his academic career was developing teaching curriculum for the Smithsonian Institute that guided middle school Social Studies instructors to teach Vietnamese American history & culture. Khanh was also highly technical and had a successful career as a Network Analyst. He was the go-to guy among friends and family for any computer-related problem.
Khanh was very open to new experiences and other cultures. He loved to travel the world and meet new people. In fact, it was during a trip to Thailand that he met his wife, Lhing. In Lhing, Khanh found his soulmate as well as a travel companion. Lhing and Khanh shared a deep love and friendship. Lhing will forever be grateful for Khanh’s unfailing support and trust. As well as his ability to listen without judgement.
The other love of Khanh’s life was his daughter, Kate. Khanh was the best dad in the world to Kate. He loved traveling with her, reading to her and teaching her to ride a bike. Kate would like to say that her favorite times with her dad are: playing Pokeman Robot (tickling game), beating him at Clue, sharing jokes, and playing ‘find the Tesla’ on road trips.
Khanh owned a serenity that allowed him to see the positive side of life. He possessed a sense of humor that never failed to elicit a smile or a belly laugh from those around him. He was very dependable and always willing to help others, even in death. Khanh donated his organs to three waiting recipients, when he passed away. Though we will miss him greatly, our pain is lessened knowing that a part of Khanh lives on in others.
Khanh was preceded in death by his mother, Kim.
He is survived by his father, Lien; his wife Lhing & their 7 year old daughter, Kate. As well as his five older siblings: Trang, Chuong, Chi, Dao and Tan.
A Celebration of Life ceremony for Khanh will be held for close friends and family. Please share your condolences in the comments section. Khanh’s family would also like to share these two sites: http://www.sightlife.org/ and https://www.organdonor.gov/statistics-stories/statistics.html
