Laverne passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday morning , September 5th. She is survived by her loving husband Bert, son Bruce(Shannon) and grandson Brendan. and her surviving brothers, Don (Beata), Jim (Margaret), her sister Sr Rosemary Huebsch and sister-in law Loreta (Willie).
A caring mother and wife for 66 years Laverne ensured that their home was filled with the beauty of her talents in gardening and in the house. Her love for others extended beyond her family. She was a key volunteer for many years producing the Mercer Island phone directory and a fund raiser for Seattle Children’s Hospital. A member of St Monica for all her years on Mercer Island, she served on several committees and as president of the Guild.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday September 14 at 11 a.m. at St Monica Catholic Church, 4301- 88th Avenue South, Mercer Island. It will be preceded at 10:30 a.m. by a Recitation of the Rosary.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Seattle Children’s Hospital or Providence Hospice of Seattle.
