After a long battle with metastatic colon cancer, Linda Barkley Jarashow, 65, of Fremont, CA, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 5th, 2019. She was born on March 23th, 1953 to Wm. Levis and Marilyn (McKay) Green in Seattle, WA. She graduated from Washington School for the Deaf in 1972 and was a member of the Class of 1977 at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC.
She married David Jarashow in 1978. They lived together in Ventura, CA, where the first three of their four children were born, until they relocated to Fremont, CA in 1986. Besides being a homemaker and mother to her three children, she also enjoyed traveling to many countries—a passion her children inherited; researching her family tree, volunteering at the California School for the Deaf, Fremont—where her children attended, and giving back to the Deaf community.
Linda is survived by her three children—Ben Jarashow (Kat Roberts) of Provo, UT, Adam Jarashow (Samantha Braidi) of Fremont, CA, and Liz Jarashow of Salt Lake City, UT, and 3 grandchildren, Boone, Cypress, and Wilder Jarashow, all of Provo, UT. She is also survived by her sister, Leslie (Mike) Foley of Seattle, WA; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Daniel, her brother Bill Green, and her ex-husband, David.
Linda's remains will be placed besides her beloved parents at Acacia Memorial Park in Seattle, WA.
A celebration of Linda's life will take place on Saturday, March 23rd.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in her name to the Washington School for the Deaf.
