

Lois passed away January 31, 2017 at the grand age of 100. She was born December 29, 1916 in Albany, OR to Charles and Elizabeth Carlson. After the family moved to Seattle Lois attended John Hay and graduated from Queen Anne High.
In 1940, Lois married the love of her life, Roy Boese, they were married 40 years before his passing. She then was blessed to meet and marry Osborn Moe they were together for 22 years until his passing. She was also preceded in death by her son, Allan, daughter-in-law, Shirley, and all 4 of her siblings; Grace, Ruth, Robert and Catherine.
Lois was an artist, a musician, a teacher, a business-woman and contractor, a designer, a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a generous and loving friend. She volunteered many years at The Creative Activities Center for the Physically Disabled (CAPD) which led to her teaching music and art to special needs children for 13 years in the Seattle Public school at Lowell and Boren. She also worked on legislation which led to new ADA building codes, access requirements and housing. For this work, she received a Governor’s award from Dan Evans. On Valentine’s Day 2008, she launched the Elizabeth Gregory Home note card project. She made cards from her original water color paintings and added new paintings each season. She had the cards printed and prepared them herself for EGH to sell. These sales are ongoing. Lois sang all her life starting on the radio at Fischer studios, and in church choirs, Seattle Chorale and Seattle Opera. She was the longest standing member of the Seattle Opera Guild.
Lois is survived by her son, Brian Boese (Linda), granddaughter, Dana Knutson, and great grandchildren; Kelsey Larrabee and Blake Knutson.
Lois will be greatly missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.

A private family interment will be held with a Celebration of Life occurring later this spring or summer.
